I grew up in rural West-Central Minnesota where I was raised by a pack of nomadic albino poodles. Then I got into radio. I worked from 1979 to 1989 in Strugis, SD at a traditional country station. During my 10 year stint in Sturgis, I had my first opportunity to work briefly with a kid named Randy McDaniel. It is too bad he left Sturgis just because of what the lawyers called "the incident."
After Sturgis I went to Hollywood where I was a stunt double for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen on 'Full House' for two seasons. If you slow-mo the action sequences, I'm pretty easy to spot. I'm the one with the Adam's apple, cigarette, moustache, and glasses. I left Hollywood after two years because I learned the hard way that a stunt double for twins dosen't make twice as much money. Plus, I had a bad allergic reaction to some under-cooked sushi. So, I moved back to South Dakota in 1991, got back into radio, and bought a white poodle for old times sake. I have religiously been on the air in the Sioux Falls market every week since the early 1990's at one of KXRB's sister stations, KSOO. When I was offered the chance to work Classic Country Saturday's on KXRB last year, I jumped on the opportunity! It's great to visit with all the listeners that call-in & then kick-back and listen to all the fantastic country music I grew-up with! Plus they pay me to do it!! (Is this a great country or what?)
Got to go walk the dog or vice-versa.
