I was born and raised on a farm near Leota, Minnesota (that's near Edgerton...which is near Pipestone...which is near...well, you get the idea).  After graduating from Edgerton High School (7 best years of my life!) I attended Austin Mn. Area Vo-Tech (hey, free at the time!) and landed my first radio job in Winner, S.D. (KWYR, 3 years).

Since then, have lived all over the state...Aberdeen (KKAA,3 years), Volga/Brookings (KV91, 3 years), Sturgis (KBHB, 1 year), Rapid City (pert-near every station in that city!, 15 years), and moved to Sioux Falls in 1999.  I co-hosted a talk show with Rick Knobe on KSOO, and then hosted "The McDaniel Mess" talk show on KSOO, one of our sister stations.
